Mon 25 Sept 13° Fisherrow, Musselburgh, Edinburgh
Rang Thetford who said it was an easy 2 min fix, No. 13 means a new Thermaster on the finn panel at back of fridge, it would still be working, so no panic. Nearest dealer in Ashington, North of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Rang them, they have one in stock come in later in week and will put it in wheewww!
Misty day, waited to see if cleared...it didn't until late afternoon, so had another chillax day, watching the tide come in and float the little fishing boats, family of swans swimming by and listening to the laying of the waves.
Very intermittent wifi, Tony went to the local fish shop and bought some fresh scallops and fillet of cod for dinner , we had mussel entre and the fresh juicey scallops and cod. Yumm.

Another dry sunny morning. Looks like National got the NZ election but very close, once again up to Winston to decide!
Had a restful day today, sort out of cupboards, crosswords, read the paper generally chilaxed.
Beef curry for dinner. Fridge panel started flashing and not working...will have to phone in the morning.

Sat 23 Sept 11° Edinburgh
Very quiet night, woke to a lovely sunny day for our day in the city. Just a note that the fresh salmon was 240 grams for £3.16...good price.
Several large Motorhomes in last night, very popular place, toilets open till 8.30pm with outside beach showers for the hardy folk.
Spoke to our Scottish neighbours who come and stay for a week, love it, shops and restaurants nearby great spot and it's free!
We caught the bus into Edinburgh, took nearly and hour, busy with traffic, went to Waverly station information centre, bought tickets for hop on hop off bus £14 each for seniors, then joined the queue......very busy teaming with people....Saturday. Very slow trip round the city with the traffic, buildings quite close so not too good for taking photos. Did the circuit then 2nd time round got off at the castle, £13.50 each for seniors with a walking guide. Very interesting, built on an old volcanic lava rock high above the city.
On way back passed a very loud concert in the park, we walked to a seafood restaurant that was advertised, but this is Edinburgh on a Saturday night...and it was full to 9.30pm, walked to another, but way out of our price range....so Weatherspoons it was then. Again it was chocker block full...found one table for 2 next to a nice Scottish couple.
Pleasant evening to finish our great day in Edinburgh, bus back to Fisherrow and another very nice Scottish couple.

Fri 22 Sept 9° Falkirk to Edinburgh
Very fresh, clear morning, we farewelled Pat and Les, our 3 week tour of Scotland together has sadly come to an end. It has been great to be able to pop next door for a cuppa and a chat.....I will miss my big sis xx. They drive back to Lincoln and we continue our trip southwards. Stopped at Morrisons for lpg 54p took 10 ltrs £5.
NZ election.....good luck, sounds very close.
Drove on the motorway to our stop for next couple days, 7 km East of Edinburgh at Fisherrow Harbour, Musselburgh. Lidl very close so stocked up a bit and found a good spot in amongst 4 or 5 other motorhomes. There is a bus stop nearby that takes you into Edinburgh so that's our day tomorrow.
Quiet afternoon catching up on blog and budget. Pat rang 5pm at the lights near home, so they had a very good run....Ena will have their dinner ready for them I am sure and she will be very pleased to see them and have them safely home.
Tony sausages and hot chips from sizzlers van on waterfront.....oh no thry were closed....home made chips it is then....I will have lovely fresh Scottish salmon yummy.

Thurs 21st September 12° Pitlochry to Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies
At Perth we stopped for diesel £1.21 we got £60 for 49ltrs no lpg here at BP with an M&S food shop attached.
Rolling green pastures with wee patches of blue sky appearing in the grey sky as the rain stops.
The glorious sunshine came out as we approached the Falkirk Wheel, under a 10'3" high bridge....we are 10' 2 1/2" ......so under very slowly.
Fabulous time on the boat trip on the Falkirk Wheel, the world's only rotating boat lift which links the Forth and Clyde canal to the Union canal 115 feet above ,£11 for about 45 mins. made even better by the stunning sunning day.
We drive on to the Kelpies the world's largest equine sculptures at 30 metres tall and illuminated all night with different colours. Pat and Les arrived, we walked with Pat and the dogs to see them in the daylight, our free car park was a short 10min away. Then back to motorhomes to cook dinner then about 8.30pm followed the procession of visitors to see the illumination........magical...Sat and watched for ages with a wee dram to keep out the chill of the evening.
