Sat 6 Jan 8° Cordoba

Rain all night so they were lucky with their parade last night. We slept in we were so cosy in our fleece sheets.

Crossed the main road and through an archway into the old city, there were a maze of inter connecting cobbled lane ways. past the horse stables, a show of tonight 8pm...will come back for that.

Into Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos.€4.50each.....very similar to Alhambre in Granada but smaller. Up the tower, many steep steps but good views from up the top.

Into the gardens, with dancing fountains with a mix of English Christmas  songs and Spanish music. Trees lined the walkways between the different spaces with flower beds.

Onto the Mezquita-Catedral but it had just closed, so will come back tomorrow. Wandered the old streets, down to the old Roman Bridge . Then we  had lunch €10, I had paella and aubergine cut and fried like chips,  never had them like that before, very tasty with a gazpacho sauce. Tony had a whole said with salad, deliciouslyrics cooked just tender.

Strolled back to Bessie, the sun came out, had a light tea before heading back in for the horse show. €15 each for 1 hour show.  The queue was up the street....not a spare seat inside, we had a good view at the back.

After the show we could go around the stables to pat the horses. It was very crisp when we came outside but the evening was dry, so very lucky by the sounds of some weather gale force winds and snow in some places in Spain.
