Wed 3 May 10° Keukenhoff to Kinderdijk

Forgot to mention that commentary on the Amsterdam tour said that Tulips actually originated in Turkey not Holland!  I was surprised to hear that.

Leisurely morning and lovely chat with Elliot before driving to last stop in Holland Kinderdijk to see the world heritage site windmills.

Excellent road surface, stress free drive apart from city center of Rotterdam...why does she do this....anyway...trams have their own centre Lane,  so no problem with cars, wheewww. Bikes are far less here and wait for cars not like Amsterdam where it would seem they have right of way. Rotterdam seems more of a business city than a tourist centre,  very pleasant wide tree lined roads, very pleasantly surprised...not a nasty experience at all.

Arrived at our camp at Alblasserdam €17 with all services, showers .50c for 4 mins. Had a late lunch then walked the short way to the Waterbus €2 one stop then onto a smaller boat €1.70 to Kinderdijk.   Different options to the windmills,  we chose a half hour cruise €5.50 each, the next one was 25 mins so had a Heineken while we waited.

Quite a grey day but at least the rain had stopped,  on the way back to camp the sun came out, never mind , nothing you can do about the weather.

Salmon steaks, mix vegetables and sautéed potatoes for dinner. Using up the frozen before the ferry as have to turn the gas off and the frozen  veg could thaw, so finishing them up tonight.

Another world heritage site enjoyed.
