Saw Martine and Kanute packing up their camper to go to Germany, stopped in to farewell them.
10am Roger came down and rang a Thetford dealer about the fridge, said not repairable and can't get a new one. I rang one in Manchester and he confirmed that an ammonia leak is the cooling system and in Thetford fridges are not repairable or replaceable, would have to get a new fridge. Rang Dave at Oaktree said best to get it looked at here and fixed within the 90 day warranty save breaking our trip to come back. Roger offered to ring another place nearby to see what they say.
However if can't get it done here have decided to come back to uk to get it done, which will also give us another 90days warranty for next trip. So all plans subject to change and can do the trip in reverse.
As we will have over a month to get back and and as it is cold enough not to need a fridge, as we can use the boot box on the back, will probably use the time to come back via Provence and up that way while still in France.
Had a chat to Pat and Les who are now in France on the way down to Spain, hoping to call in if weather and roads allow , as they now have a bigger motorhome .
Took Bessie for a run, tried to get a fill of gpl but wouldn't take card, but nice to have a ride out in her.
