Thurs 5 January 0°

Sun coming through the  clouds made for a sunny walk this morning.
Decided to give Bessie a turnover as per RAC man, oh no not again!  Yep flat as a French crepe. Rang RAC who sent a local from Belves auto, here in about 20 mins, very good service,  however his hand held checker produced a docket that said - Replace Battery, or the French equivalent.  I showed him the reading on the panel inside saying 12v, he shrugged and showed me the docket. He indicted that he could jump start us, but tomorrow...shrug...new battery €190.44. Cash only no facility for card....Bugger!

Unplugged Bessie from hook up and drove her down to the pad and put the gas on and chocks under front tyres, strong smell of amonia, hopefully just the new battery. RAC rang to see how we got on, very good service,  but told us not covered under guarantee....Bugger  Again!
Emailed oaktree, hope covered under their 3 month warranty.

Good afternoon walk, met up again with Martine and Milo the whippet.  They are going back to Germany on Monday for 2 weeks. Met Eric's son out jogging, everyone very friendly and know the dogs, so no problems.  Clifford and Milo decided to go for a dip in the Dordogne  and Lewa found a dead animal or Martine thought it was the manure or buried bones the farmers put around the kiwi fruit orchard. Absolutely the worst stench ever.
Got back and washed her down with shampoo and disinfectant and hosed her and the deck down. Had to wash our outer walk clothes and gloves to try to get rid of the smell,  but still it lingered. Left them out for a bit till got the fire going and after toweling then down they got in front of the fire to dry off............and still it lingered.......
