Mon 6 Feb 7°

Quiet evening to say so many motorhomes parked here, quite nice having others around even if all in own motorhomes too cold to socialise.
5am the trucks started up........never mind would still recomend this site.

Day dawned dry for our drive to Peaugres Safari Parc for our next adventure.  Unfortunately it was closed, bit cold for African wildlife to be roaming free in these Temps.
Closest we got was the poster
The sun shone and the road followed the river, with glimpses between the trees, very pretty, withwith terraced hills on other side of the road. Slowly climbing up through more terraced hills covered on grapevines and fruit trees.

A long barge was coming down the Rhone at Vienne.

More grapevines on terraced hills under ruin castle in Vienne.

A long 3 kms tunnel on bypass under Lyon, they have a clean air policy so didn't want to get pulled over and risk a fine.....better safe than sorry.

Tried to get diesel in Dardilly but it wouldn't accept our card, had more lunch at Total in Limas  €1.24 ltr got €51 worth 41 ltrs.

Headed to site, coordinates took us up through the heart of Beaujolais wine growing region. Vines on both sides as we climbed and climbed and wound our way round to nowhere! Local man said no site here and pointed  back down hill saying 2 or 3 kms away.  When we found the sign for Aire sefvices camping car, it was for waste dump onky, by a viaduct, with no water to wash the cassettes so good job we didnt need it.

Drove on stopping for lunch beside a vineyard right up to side of the road. The vines pruned to within a foot above ground level in true Grenache style. These are very old vines.

As site for the night plan A then plan B failed, taking Les's advice, it was on to Plan C, a nearby aire at Belleville. Basic site, sealed pitch, services and it's free. A busy road running along behind and above,  but far enough away to avoid the traffic vibrations, 3 motorhomes in at 4.30pm.
