Wednesday 8 Feb 5° Cloudy

Calm start in the peaceful surrounds of the nature reserve on the river, followed by very friendly encounter in local Boulangerie in very ancient villages of Prety.

Must say we didn't feel so big when slowly passing several huge trucks through these little villages and towns.

Pleasant drive back through chardonnay country in Northern appellation, Puligny Montrachet world famous for its chardonnay wines in a pretty village that lends it's name to the wine producing region. The land is flat and you can see vines for miles and miles.

We followed the rue de grand crus, past vineyards galore some burning their pruning near road and could get a warm wife of wood smoke.

Then on 5km into another famous winery of Meursault, lovely quaint village, some buildings with huge cracks thru the stone, looks like one good shake and ut would come crumbling down.

Grand chateau closed, no wine tastings, but could have bought a bottle for €32, that's rge price for grand crus, we decided to pass on that one.

The Macon area yesterday grows 80%  chardonnay which is in keeping with the appellation minimum, with 230 producers each with vineyards up to 1200 hectares in size, which is one he'll of a lot of wine, Yealands is about 1200 hectares as as comparison.

Lunch stop astounding Perrigny Les Dijon, the skipper is definitely the best Boulangerie shopper, great baguette and delicious choice of pastries,  think I'll keep him on.

Camp site in  Dijon by lac Kir, which would have been perfect to visit the city, was once a strain closed Oct to March for renovation s. Tourist office redirected us 6km south to a strain site open all year and she said can get a stainless bus from there into Dijon.
Noticed lots of purple bendy busses and trams in Dijon.

Site is carpark at back of said ports saidpoetadium,  very narrow parks, services no longer working, good job we didnt any.
