Fri 15 Sept 9° Loch Broom to Durness

Blustery today, misty rain shielded our magnificent views,  first time saw Les in longs, coat and Beanie! taking the dogs for their walk, he saw an Eagle circling over our Bessie.

Headed off to the local Brewery on our way to Ullerpool for lunch, but it was not for the public so carried on past giant boulders that litter the shoreline from the rocky hills. Then through forest such contrasting vista's around every bend.

A Dutch motorhome got too close to Ruby and clipped the wing mirrors,  Les's was OK but the other was left swinging in the wind.

Waterfalls gushing down the rocky mountain sides and into fast flowing streams below, Old cottages, white painted houses, trees, rocky fields with ferns and Heather,  now turning brown, oranges and yellows.  very good 2 lanes roads very short single track with passing bays.

Sad news from home, our dear friend Ethel passed away yesterday, she had a great innings just a month short of 91, she played golf on Monday and was still driving, an amazing lady and she will be missed. Good news from the same family  Sarah and Gerry are expecting their first baby, so happy for them.

On to Ullerpool for lunch, walked around, each bought a tartan throw souvenir then to pub for seafood chowder for lunch. Pat and Les had spotted a gift for Tony so gave it to him for early birthday, a mug with 'skipper' on...perfect.

Arrived at our site, very large right on the cliffs over the beach £16 we got a pitch but it was filling up fast, saved the one next to us for Pat and Les, they arrived about 45 mins later. Great site with its own bathroom and restaurant. After they walked the dogs we walked over to the bar...they had starters of haggis in Drambuie cream £4.95 I had smoked salmon with salad for £5.95 yummy.

Pat came back for a bit of planning as we go different ways tomorrow and meet up further down. Les back was bad after a long day driving today.
