Gusty winds this morning, but we are close to the beach. Pat rang the ferry company, some before and after our sailing have been cancelled, but we are all set to go. So we packed up and drove on the B road past Traig golf course, sandy beaches with choppy seas , narrow road so driving over the cats eyes, but good road surface past very rugged coastal scenery.
Into Mallaig where we had a walk around the little town before our 12pm crossing to Skye.
The sun was shingle and we had a good, smooth crossing,
Found a nice place to stop for lunch, the the rain came but seemed to now over very quickly with the wind. Weather alternating rain and sun, Tony thought the scenery very similar to Central Otago, numerous crevices in the hills with water flowing down and into the streams below.
Drove to Talisker Distillery but had to book so went back through stunning scenery to our site for night, went past the turnoff and into the Dunvegan Castle car park, turned around and down the narrow road to Kinloch campsite on the waters edge of salt water loch Dunvegan £22 including all services, blustery but stunning.
Pat and I shared a load in the washing machine and dryer, we are celebrating her birthday here tonight after separate dinners. We went to them and had music and a whisky tasting, great birthday celebration.
