No wifi again overnight and woke to a drizzly, grey day as we drove on and up a 14° gradient hill around Loch Carron , through Glen Doherty, along Loch Maree to Gairloch for lunch and meeting point with Pat and Les. Surprisingly brown considering going all the rain, but no grass, mostly tussock.
Lock Maree and Bienn Eighe another heavy downpour then it cleared and could see the bands of rain sheeting down over the Loch. Lots of heather and rocks up here.
Loch Bad an Sgalaig, little fishing village, not much else, checked out the pub but decided to have lunch in the motorhomes. Les just checked....the actual town was further on around the corner, with restaurants, dolphin lookout and museum....whoops....never mind probably saved £20 on a restaurant lunch. Next time.
On past loch Ewe, Aultbea to our free stop at Loch Broom Viewpoint, large stoney car park 180° view of the Loch. No wifi again here, but the views are stunning, quite exposed but worth it.
Pat and Les arrived, we had a drink together in Ruby, they joined the National Trust and walked round a house all set up in 1920s and 1930s style, they were very pleased with their investment, good catch up, then each cooked own meals, we had Mexican Frikadellen and rice.
