Fri 9 March 10° Valencia - Tarragona

Lovely sunny day for driving 4 hours to Tarragona,  sat nav took us right through the city with all the traffic and multi lane roundabouts eeekkkk.  Then out onto very good wide smooth roads along the past the flat calm blue sea, ideal for the Americas Cup racing, certainly plenty of wind.

Massive increase in  lorry's towards Valencia, all clear our way.

Past miles of orange orchards minus their fruit, all been picked.

Stopped at Castellated de la Planar for diesel €1,09 47 ltrs €52 LPG/GPL .65c €10.50 16 ltrs. (20 days for lpg cooking and fridge).Checked water coolant and oil all ok. Very helpful staff, filled it all up for us and told us round the back for grey waste and fresh water.

Stopped at new rest area for lunch.

On past fields of crops cauli and broccoli.  After miles of flat now climbing up through the hills and still the lorries keep on coming.

Into the Tarragona,  through the town, past Roman ruins of the amphitheatre to our free car park. Glorious view overlooking the Mediterranean and beach. Bit of a slope even with the chocks but worth it for that view.

Tony went in  for a swim, he said it was warmish...the sun was shining on the water like diamonds.

Walked 10 mins to the Mercadona,  very nice new store.

Mince, courgettes, mushrooms, peppers and noodles for dinner.

Chat with Pat parcel options for sending things home, 40kg £244 freight, 10kg £135 post, so best option looks like extra bag on flight 23kg £65 each flight.

We have decided this is one of our favourite places.
