Happy Easter everyone.
A cool hazy day for our drive north today, for a moment we thought we were back in France with all the roundabouts. Still lots of massive lorries on the roads to say it's Easter. Roads flat and straight but terrible condition, dodging pot holes, very bumpy for poor Bessie.
Plan A site full, Plan B full.......well it is Easter! Went to Lidl to stock up and a German motorhomer said he was going to a camp about 300 m down the road follow me, so we did and a great campsite lots of empty pitches, take a ticket like a car park and pay when leave max €15 a day including all services, shower €1.
As we set up chairs and tables outside a steady stream of motorhomes kept arriving, including a convoy of 3 from Czechezlavakia with children and dogs. Lots of children and dogs in the camp. Our German neighbours said 150 pitches here, lots of Italians come here for their holidays.
Quite tightly packed but very interesting for us as first big campsite. Interestingly only 4 showers and loos for the whole camp, but then it is just for motorhomes which are self contained so not too much of a problem. We could see it getting full so had showers and did the washing. Our neighbours said half hour walk to the lake, so will check that out tomorrow.
Opened a great bottle of wine bought today at Lidl at huge expense of €1.79 Trebbiano fizz yummy enjoyed with beef stir fry spaghetti at 7pm alfresco just as the sun went below the tree line. A perfect evening and great way to relax for a few days here.
