Sun 23 April 5° Rothenburg

Today we spent exploring the old medieval part of the town, up old wooden steps and stone rocky path around the old wall.

Into St Johannas church for end of service and Tony took a little video. Then St Jacobs with its twin  towers and the wooden carving of the Last Supper and the Altar of the Holy Blood.

Past a traditional cake shop that made 'snowball' biscuits covered in icing, had to try the local treat.......very sweet....

Went into a cafe for hot coffee to try to warm up,  it was very cold, even when the sun did come out there was still a chill in the air.

By 2.30 we decided we had done pretty well and covered a large part of the town, so went back to Bessie after a hot cuppa decided to go onto Wurzburg.  Most of the motorhomes had left the car park so thought we would too.

Got diesel at €1.12 €40 worth 36 ltrs. Romantic Road signs few and far between...with 3 parallel roads, it's easy to come off and on and we felt as if we were zig zag  around a  bit, through pretty green cointryside and little villages with churches, churches everwhere....Tony said he felt 'in spired '.....heehee.  Vineyards as far as the eye could see on the hillsides through Lauda-Konigshafen and Tauberbischofsheim ........what names.

Finally decided to just get to Wurzburg , found site in large campsite on the banks of the river Main, very pretty spot After quite a frustrating afternoon drive.
