Heavy rain again this morning which goes to show that the rain in Spain does not stay mainly on the plain. Haha
Had an email from the Importer, yes if you drove your motorhome into Italy between September and April, we were there 6 April to 18th April!! then when it gets to NZ it has to be fumigated. I replied to thank him and ask if he could find out about the chemicals they use as we had heard they were very dangerous and should be banned. Thanks Chris for the heads up.
Leisurely morning, in between downpours we emptied cassette and filled up our water then headed back to the beach at Comillas for post office and stamps tommorow to post our forms off.
The sun came out for our drive back then more rain as we arrived, the 3 motorhomes of John and Ingrid, Paul and Tineke and Chris and Bernice were all there haha. As we pulled up Chris invited us in for a cuppa, so we were there chatting and laughing till 12.40 when they had to leave to go to Mass...said how about we go for lunch after seeing as it's such a wet miserable day. So while they were at church we did a recky as Chris wanted steak and chips, we found a restaurant near the church, so set off to meet them.
They were headed back with a bag of croissants...it was a quick Mass..so we carried on back into town and found the very busy, bustling family restaurant.....just got in before a large family gathering.
English-speaking manager translated the menu del dia and we all ordered and Chris got his steak and chips. Very tasty 2 course, bread and wine €14.50 Tony enjoyed his choices this time as we all did. We had a lovely meal and conversation.
We came back to Bessie for tea and croissants which were massive, so very nice desert for after our meal. We sat chatting and watching the huge waves pounding the sea wall and crashing on the beach. When the rain stopped we went for a walk to the end of sea front, waves were crashing up onto balconies on houses on the edge, spectacular, thundering noises which gradually faded as the tide went out.
Said goodnight, it was a great day.
Cheese and crackers for late tea.
