Fresh but sunny and the rain stopped. made a cuppa then.....nothing....all off again but the fridge was working. Decided to ring RAC 9am here 8am UK time, got the European number and had to give the date we arrived etc, so now starts our 3 months cover.
Adrien came back, felt the connection it was fine not warm at all, said try starting the engine...yep leisure batteries had dropped down to 8v with engine on came straight back up to 13v so he said needs to have a good run for half an hour and a camp to give it a good charge on electric. Not enough power in the sun to top up the batteries thru solar alone.
Just then a tow truck came to take us to a garage.....after we had explained we could drive after saying it was an electrical problem any way said it was low battery and all OK and he went away. Left engine running, farewelled Adrian and Jude and thanked him for his help, emptied waste and drove on along north coast to medieval town of Santillana del Mar.
The sun was shining but cold wind, had lunch here and a walk around the village.
Drove on to our stop for tonight at Comillas the home the Gaudi's hidden gem. As we drove along for the first time for ages we both felt warm......it was wonderful .
Fabulous large car park right on the sea front with a police station at one end and a new laundrette right behind the parking bays, excellent. Our new favourite place. Put on a wash €5 and €3 for a dry and everything was perfectly dry in that one go, very good. Did some house work. Went for a walk about 5 other motorhomes all parked with double spaces between so plenty of room. Met Brit next door Mike and Sonia full timers have lived in it for 3 years now 8.5m long. He had his engine running, same problem with his leisure batteries, he has 2 solar panels but one was not charging properly, lots of short trips so also need a good run or an electric hook up. Sonia runs a singles motorhome group in UK.
Tony had his 6 months pension form to fill in, so went for a walk to Tourist Information Center who said Library open till 7.30pm and could print it off for us. Walked up hill, found it, very helpful lady showed us to a computer, eventually got it into English found Google mail, but it wouldn't take my password, long story short for the first time ever we came out with out our Tablet devices......got distracted talking to Mike.....anyway, by the time the lady offered for me to email it to her to print off.......I lost it......couldn't find the email anywhere....not in junk,,deleted, anywhere......so I lost it then.....she was very kind but unfortunately public holiday in Spain as it's All Saints day tommorow and will be closed until Monday. Possibly a photograph shop may do it.....if I can find it...😈😨
Back down the hill, cooling off now, Tony cooked dinner, gammon, Brussels, carrots and courgettes with chipped new potatoes.
Still couldn't find the email....a mystery, so emailed them asking to send it again.
