A 2 hour drive north east to Evora where we leave Elliot and Emma to carry on with their trip. Today Jenna went with them in the car to catch up. It was a long drive and when we got there we were grateful not to be in the motorhome, as the roads were cobbled and narrow as they wound up through the ancient village, very close to buildings and up the hill to the Cathedral. Found parking paid until 4pm, we climbed the Cathedral tower and got amazing views from the roof top.
Then down and around the cloisters to the Cathedral itself. There is a small Roman ruin named after Diana goddess, in the town, an Aqueduct and Roman bath out a bit further from the town.
We had a lite lunch soup and sandwiches in a cosy bakery down a side street, then decided we had time to all go to the building built with human bones.
Jenna and I went to add money to the parking and Elliot and Emma's car had a ticket on it
so Jenna took it down to Elliot and he came and moved it. We walked to the bone building, I was going to wait outside but as it closed at 5.30 decided I would go and top up the parking so they didn't have to rush. On the way back I passed a chemist so bought Jenna some Actifed €3.20 , as she had run out if Sudafed, but she was feeling a bit better.
Tony took a couple of photos inside of the wall made with human bones.
All back at the cars after their macabre experience, we farewelled Elliot and Emma as the drove to their accommodation and we drove back.
It was now dark and 6pm so didn't get back until 8pm, not a,pleasant drive in the pitch black, but Tony did very well.
Alex cooked dinner with the left over veg, chicken and added rice which made a very tasty meal. They moved in from the motorhome to the other bedroom where Elliot and Emma had slept. All tired after a long but enjoyable day.
