Mon 12 June 13° Paignton to Eden Project

Morning cuppa with Heather before our farewell and southward drive towards saint austell and the Eden Project.

Crossed the Tamar bridge and into Cornwall.

Cornish pasties for lunch then arrived at the many car parks of the Eden Project, signs here a bit hit and miss, but got here and parked in the banana car park, all had fruit names.

£27.50 each to get in if book on line can get seniors for £5 discount. Definitely worth the money, average allow 4 hours to walk around, probably longer if you stop to eat or drink at one of the many eateries around the site which covers 35 football fields.

It started like as a crater left from the clay pits used to make china......that's a lot of plates.
They brought in tons of earth, stones, boulders and rich dirt for planting the tiered landscape for manner of trees, shrubs, flowers, scented  gardens as well as fruit trees and vegetables.

The main Biome are the Tropical Rainforest which is 31° 61% humidity with its own cool room half way round for those that struggle with the heat. The Mediterranean Biome both with many recognisable plants and trees from NZ.

All very ecological with fair trade produce in all the eateries  a truly amazing construction.

Our stop for the night was a nearby pub The Ship Inn, the car park was full so we were asked to park on the grass at tge back, which was quite firm but could imagine it to be very boggy if wet.

Had a chat with Pat, then into pub for £5.95 carvery,  sat in beer garden getting last of the sunshine before going in to eat. Very tasty carvery, good value.
