After breakfast and a bit of a laugh over our retelling of events overnight as we got up to walk from the bedroom to the bathroom, lights came on very soft like a dimmer switch had been turned gentle to lighten our way.....through each room....the bathroom went off while motionless then slowly lightened up again as we moved back to the bedroom. They were quite concerned as had no idea what had happened as nothing like that installed. Sally thought it must have been the motion sensors for the alarm. Strange happenings but we were very grateful for it 😁.
Sally and Peter and the dogs took us for a drive around the area and a walk around Betws- y -Coed very popular tourist town and we walked the dogs around the central park. Then to Snowdon for lunch in a very popular cafe, the owners were also walkers and hikers and photographers who have wonderful pictures for sale in the gallery inside the cafe.
We got back and put our washing in the airing cupboard, almost dry, thanks Sally, Peter showed Tony the grate to empty the cassette and then they filled the water, great hospitality, very much appreciated from one couple of motorhomers to another. We said it's like being part of special club for like minded people.
Very delicious salmon pie for dinner with a very good rose` and another evening of good conversation and sharing of moho adventures .

Sat 29 July 15° Conwy - Llandudno Great Orme
The Groes Inn, meaning crossroads, was built in 1200's as a Stopover for the sheep hearders from Anglesey on way to markets on the mainland.
Good chat with Elizabeth and Paul really good to see them and hear their voices.
Tont researched Llandudno and the Great Ormesby tramway, so will head that way and have a look and see what the weather is doing. We drove back through the narrow arch and past the castle on the way to Llandudno.
Dry and sunshine got to the bottom and a man was there taking £3 so we paid and kept driving....Round and up narrow road sea on one side cliff on the other...thank goodness it was a one way road.
At the top was a car park and Cafe so pulled in for our lunch stop, great view of Anglesey and Northern Ireland beyond. Then the little train pulled up....so no need to that as we were driving round....apparently there is cable car as well but didn't see any signs to it.
Wound our way down again and along through the coastal town of Deganwy.
Phone call from Sally and Peter, at Colwyn Bay, they had just got our message, they were back from the Lake District, please come and stay, they have room, water and dump facilities and we are welcome to do washing etc. So we said thanks very much and would be there probably within the hour.
Massive wind farm off the coast of Llandudno/Colwyn Bay, drove to Sally and Peter's.
Very warm welcome and great catch up of where we had each been since meeting in Holland at the cheese factory.
Fun with their 2 dogs, golden retriever Tess fine old lady who rings a little bell when she wants to be let outside.....and Trix a very focused border collie....who spends hours rounding up tennis balls and placing them inside a rubber coyte...stares at it and looks like she is rounding up sheep....great dogs. They also do lots of other tricks very intelligent and the owners of course....
Tasty Vegetable curry for dinner with French champagne from their recent travels which went down very well the chit chat and swapping of places, sites, events , happenings and looking at maps.
After dinner Sally put out some peanuts for Badger.....very timid so can't go out to see it close up as he would just run away, so watched it through the window, it comes most nights.
They also have bird feeders outside their window with up to 30 different little birds flitting in and out, very active rural garden.

Fri 28 July 16° Pontcysyllte to Llanberis Pass and Conwy
Diesel £1.15 £60 for 52 ltrs. at Betws- y-Coed stunning adventure town with all sorts of activities on offer in this very old stone built town. A gentle climb up towards the pass, clean shorn sheep most still with their tails on, graze peacefully in the fields with a stream running past on one side and high rocky hills on the other. Then showers turned to down pours as we travel up in what I imagine the Scottish Highlands to look like....the river now gushing past over the rocky river bed. Hardy walkers out there.....not for the feint hearted.
We stopped for lunch debating whether to spend £68 on the Snowdon railway trip but the top of the surrounding mountains were shrouded with low clouds and the man at the info centre advised not a good day to go.
So a bit like Ireland and Skellig Michel nothing we can do about the weather, so onwards to Conwy.
Raining all the way alongside Menai Straight between Wales and Anglesey, Britain's largest Island. Past Conwy Castle with its swing bridge, under a very narrow tunnel....mirrors in...holding breath....hope we don't have to come back this way....still we know we fit through now....arrived at a very picturesque pub stop The Groes Inn beside the Conwy estuary, good views if the water and countryside.
,
Stopped raining long enough to get photo and go over to check in...then it started again...not to worry a warm welcome is waiting for us in side with a good selection of local Ales .
Thurs 27 July 13° New Brighton - Llangollen Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
Thunder and lightening, heavy rain and gusty winds blew us about last night, but all OK.
Spitting a bit this morning as we farewell the Wirral Peninsula and head into North Wales. An actual sign saying welcome to Wales - Wrecsam. The rain stopped and skies cleared as the day lightened hope it stays for the long boat over the Aqueduct.
Unesco World Heritage site Llangollen where you get the boat over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The sun came out, the boat was full apart from 2 at the back near the galley with no table....so we grabbed those as the next trip was also full, at 7' wide it is narrower than our Bessie. 2 hour trip boat over the Aqueduct and bus back into town £14 each. Relaxing couple of hours, slow and peaceful through the countryside then over, much shorter than I thought, only 1000' and 128' high, the highest in Britain, a very good trip.
We walked around the town, very pretty area, bought a Welsh oggie (like a cornish pastie) and a Welsh rarebit tart.
Then drove to the Aqueduct at Pontcysyllte where you can walk over and back which we did...not as scary as I thought it was.....pat on the back for me...heehee hee. We also walked the path down to get a shot of it side on. It turned out to be a lovely sunny evening and we met 2 ladies canoeing over the Aqueduct with their dog, so had a drink and a chat with them in the Telford pub opposite the car park we were parked for the night. Named after the Aqueduct designer Thomas Telford.
7pm still sunny and warm a very pleasant evening to end our day.
