Sat 15 July 15° Bushmills to Antrim, The Ramble Inn

A grey showery day today, left the very nice camp and 5 mins down the road The Old Bushmills Distillery,  oldest licenced distillery in the world. Triple distilled since 1608.

NE  coast road recommended, so we drove to Carrick a Rede to the rope bridge. OMG steep ridged drive down to the lower car park, in an old quarry, apparently they film the Game of Thrones here. Long walk up and down, track and steps over the cliffs 1 1/2 miles to the rope bridge.

The weather packed in and started  a fine drizzle, 1 1/2 Mile walk back, getting quite wet now.

Took a few pictures around the quarry for those who have seen the Game of Thrones,  never watched it ourselves. Rain stopped ready for coastal drive.

We head on along the coastal road, supposed to be one of the most picturesque in Europe but the visibility was now minimal with the  misty rain closing in.

So we cut in land and at Ballymena got a fill of diesel at £1.13 £30 for 26.5 ltrs.

Change of plan and drove to a recommended pub stopover in Antrim, The Ramble Inn . Huge car park behind the pub with fields and horses around it.  Very nice spot. After all our walking and climbing, we thought we deserved a pub meal and hopefully some entertainment...it is Saturday after all.
