Good meals in the pub last night back to Bessie till 9pm when the entertainment started. had a good Skype with Leslie.
We went back to the pub paid £20 to go in, expecting Irish Dancers, it was country music and dancing....not really what we wanted, so got a refund, no problem but it was a £20 Northern Irish pound note....so back again to get our English pound note, he said he didn't think he had any English pound notes....Tony said he would have the one we paid with...oh yes there it was....what a Basil Faulty episode that was haha.
Woke to sunshine and a lovely white horse grazing outside our window, as we wave goodbye and off to Belfast. Plan to get a hop on hop off bus around the city.
OKAY....well all plans subject to change, first car park too small for us, 2nd was a park and ride...now abandoned, overgrown and fenced off, 3rd was a park and ride...also abandoned, overgrown and fenced off....both of these still had road signs up directing to the park and ride....that are now no more.....also which obviously have been no more for a very long time......you would think they would have taken the signs down!! Next park and ride, when we finally got there was empty......no busses on Sundays !!!! So after driving round and round and getting quite frustrated on even more terrible roads....Belfast became a no go.
So we drove out of there north to Jordanstown a pretty harbour car park, beach, park, wooded area and paths for walking along promenade. Good toilet block and Cafe packed with people enjoying the sunshine now 18° with the water sparkling and our very own local Brass band to play for us for an hour. Tony really enjoyed listening, particularly the percussion which he used to play in the Watersiders Brass Band in Wellington when he was a teenager. More than made up for the frustrating mornings non event in Belfast.
Had lunch and calmed down and harmony was restored with sunshine and sparkling water, what a difference a day makes.
Car park humming all afternoon with lots of different languages being heard and people and cars coming and going a very popular place and perfect weather to enjoy it.
Tony washed a few bits to take advantage of the good drying weather, unfortunately one of his Tshirts blew off landing on the tyre and getting dirty again.....😣
Pork burger patties from the farm camp with salad tonight, warm and calm in this very pretty place.
Followed Roger Federer record win at Wimbledon....well done Roger....
What a great free overnight park again from search for sites.
