Wed 12 July 14° Glencar Loche to Donegal

A warm sunny day greeted us this morning with the soft baa of the lambs, much gentle wake up than squawking birds, which we didn't hear. Public toilet open all night so another great free spot. Back into summer clothes.

Learnt something today, the North West peninsula Donegal north is actually still in Southern Ireland. So we go from south to Northern Ireland back into southern Ireland.  Well you are never too old to learn.

Through Manorhamilton and to Belco NI border town, nothing to say other than speed signs are in MPH and signs in English only, no Gaelic.

Enniskillen,  free large car park at Castle museum 600 years old ruin €3.50 each to go in to the Museum. Very interesting with artifacts back to prehistoric times.

Met nice English couple Fil (Felicity) and Geoff from Middleton, Shrewsbury which is southern Wales. Very interesting,  gave us tips on the giants causeway  and long term camping in Portugal over winter, they have booked €900 for 3 months and suggested we book soon as very busy and popular with British and Northern Europeans  escaping the winter.

We had lunch and while we had wifi I booked our return ferry from Larne to Cairnryan  €194.40 for 18th. Headed to Donegal, Fil and Geoff said today is Orange day public holiday and they have marches which could hold up traffic. We didn't have that but we did have half hour wait in queue of traffic, due to resurfacing the road.....yeahhhhh be good for those that come in few weeks time.

Along the A46 beside Loche Erne very pretty drive, still on the Wild Atlantic Way to Beleek,  border town back into Southern Ireland, this time the sat nav said we had just entered Ireland, but again nothing to say except back into Kms.

Into Donegal Harbour car park at 5pm, free after 6pm or €2.70 for 24 hrs......but like a lot of good free sites close to town, they get full early. A friendly coach driver said if we wait till 6pm when the coaches leave, we can park in a coach bay but be out before 9am when they come back in the morning.  Two other moho came after us,  both were shorter and could fit into a car space.

Lovely evening for a walk into town 5mins.

Fish and chips for dinner.
