A dry sunny day for our drive today...thinking of you Elizabeth as we head to your old home town 😀
Hugh roadworks and new motorways with new Road layouts...all good improvements...not on Auckland scale though haha.
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure.....choice of 4 places for Liverpool, dithered between them, then decided to go on opposite peninsular and get the ferry across the mersey into city from new Brighton.
Lovely sunny seaside town, lots of motorhomes parked on water front at King's Parade, but no room, so drove along to Fort Perch Rock car park again very tight with Sunday holiday makers, so we're told just back from the water front by a large green area is also allowed overnight stops.
Lots of room and not so busy here with traffic. Spoke to motorhomer jnr front, Alan from Manchester, he said the ferries stopped about 20 years ago when they built the tunnels...but the do go 3 miles back at Birkenhead and can park there and get ferry across the Mersey into Liverpool. So that's our day tomorrow.
Alan gave us his 2016 Brit Stop book.
Had lunch then walked along the sea front, a very wide walk way to New Brighton, complete with fair ground, candy floss and rock......very English! A shopping centre with restaurants and a Weatherspoons and a massive morrisons supermarket.
Thai chicken curry with pilau rice and naan bread for dinner.
